It All Started When...
The Bucharest Summer University (BSU) is the official international summer school of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE). Organized annually by the ASE Students’ Union (USASE) and the ASE Students’ Senate, with academic mentorship from one of the university’s twelve faculties, BSU offers students worldwide a unique blend of academic rigor and cultural exploration.
The previous editions provided an international platform for cooperation among the following themes:
- Creativity and Innovation for Future Businesses, Energy and Economic Growth, Risk and Security in the Globalised World, Economic and Politic in the Globalised Society
- The Four Fundamental Liberties of the European Union, Global Investment Strategies in the New Economic Reality and Information and Governance in the Future Global Economy.
- Fintech: Challenges for Financial Services
- Corporate Sustainability Reporting: Challenges & Opportunities
- Digital Transformation for New Business Models

Beyond the two weeks of classes, BSU is all about making unforgettable memories. Participants get the chance to dive into Romanian culture through exciting activities such as the Bucharest City Tour, an adventurous weekend trip, fun teambuilding activites, vibrant social events, and the famous Global Village, where everyone showcases their country with traditional food, music, and more. And that is just the beginning, with plenty of surprises and good vibes waiting along the way.
The Bucharest Summer University is open for university students from all levels (Bachelor, Masters or PhD), aged 18-26, from Europe all around the world. To quickly check if you need a VISA please visit evisa.mae.ro (select the “Get Informed” tab up left) and enter the following information:
- passport issuing country,
- type of passport,
- purpose of your visit to Romania.

All participants will be accommodated in Moxa D student dormitory, in cozy and modern double rooms, with two people per room. The accommodation is fully arranged by the BSU organizing team and is either free of charge (for full scholarship participants) or included in the program fee (for those applying through Partial or Total Payment).
You can apply for one of three application options:
- Full Scholarship: This option is free of charge and requires you to submit your Curriculum Vitae (CV), complete the Application Form, and write a motivation letter and an essay based on the annual theme.
- Partial Payment: This option includes a reduced participation fee and requires your Curriculum Vitae (CV), Application Form, and a motivation letter explaining why you want to join BSU.
- Total Payment: This is the fastest option and only requires your Curriculum Vitae (CV) and Application Form. You do not need to write an essay or motivation letter, and you’ll receive your answer quickly—perfect for planning ahead and booking affordable summer flights.
Please note that none of the options cover travel to and from Romania. VISA arrangements and plane tickets are not provided or reimbursed by the institution.
This international cultural and academic event will take place between August 10th and 24th, 2025, in Bucharest, the vibrant capital of Romania and one of the most dynamic and lively cities in Europe. Beyond the two weeks of engaging classes, participants will have the chance to explore Romanian culture through a variety of fun and meaningful experiences, including the Bucharest City Tour, interactive and social events, and the colorful Global Village, where students share traditions from their home countries. One of the highlights of the program is the weekend trip to Romania’s peaceful and scenic mountains, offering the perfect escape into nature and a relaxing break from the city buzz.
All academic sessions will revolve around this year’s exciting topic: Marketing in the AI Era.
Throughout the two-week program, participants will take part in a dynamic mix of courses, seminars, workshops, and debates, led and moderated by renowned professors as well as national and international experts in the field. These sessions are designed to spark critical thinking, innovation, and real-world insight into how artificial intelligence is transforming the world of marketing.
